OIC urges halting WB occupation

Palestine (IP) - In its closing statement, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation "OIC" described the Israeli regime's plan to occupy large parts of the West Bank invalid and called for immediate action to counter it.

Iran Press/Middle East: An issued Wednesday statement said in case West Bank annexation, it will be formally null and void, for its part, as well as all of the agreements signed with the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), declaring the end of the solution process (compromise negotiations).

OIC called on the International Quartet to hold an urgent meeting to save chances for peace and to force the Israeli regime to stop the very plan as well as the end of settlement construction and occupation in the Palestinian territories.

OIC also called on the international community not to interact with any cabinet of the Zionist regime that puts the occupation plan on its agenda, demanding UN Security Council, UN, Human Rights Council, and international courts to counter the Israeli occupation.

Any proposal that does not recognize the Palestinians right of independence, freedom and sovereignty over Palestinian 1967 territory is rejected, including the US administration's so-called 'Deal of the Century,', the statement stressed, supporting the decisions of the Palestinian National Authority for the cancellation of agreements with the Israeli regime.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation held a virtual meeting on Wednesday to review the Israeli regime's intention for occupying more West Bank's territories.

OIC encompasses 57 member states, with its headquarters based in Jeddah- Saudi Arabia.

Last April, the Zionist regime's coalition cabinet announced an agreement to occupy West Bank's large parts and announced it would implement it since July.
