5.1 Magnitude Quake jolts Beyram in Southwestern Fars Province

Tehran (IP) - An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 struck the 'Beyram' city in Southwestern Fars Province on Tuesday at a depth of 11 km, Iranian Seismological Center reported.

Iran Press/Iran News: According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the earthquake occurred at 20:38:49 local time at Beyram city in Larestan County of Fars Province.

The epicenter of the quake appears to be at 53.44 N and 27.66 E.

There was no immediate information on casualties or damage from the quake, which felt in Iran’s West Azerbaijan province.
