The contribution of Hazrat Zainab, who supported women and children at Karbala after they were captured and sent to Yazid's palace in Damascus as prisoners of war, is the continuation of the role of Imam, a religious leader in Islam.

Sheikh Usman Bello discussed how the Ashura mourning ritual should be conducted in Bauchi State, a city in northeast Nigeria, where the mourners gathered at Husainiyya.
"We should all know that Ashura mourning is a service to Allah, even though some people have been trying to defame the mourning ritual, saying that Ashura mourning is a bad innovation created after the holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) passed away," said Sheikh Usman Bello.
He added that if you go to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj Pilgrimage, you would see them (mourning defamers) fighting against the pilgrimage of the Holy Prophet Mohammad(PBUH).
He stressed the need to use simple and good words to remind them (Mourning deniers) that the Holy Prophet Mohammad(PBUH) had mourned the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) even before the occurrence (Imam Hussain's martyrdom).
As with the purity of the Ashura ritual, the former Sunni cleric called on the attention of the mourners to ensure purity while performing the Ashura ritual.
Sheikh Yaqoub Yahaya, a senior member of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), led the morning ritual in Katsina State, northwestern Nigeria.
