Iran Press/ Europe: Kazem Jalali, Iranian ambassador to Russia in a meeting on Friday referred to the signing of the tripartite memorandum of understanding which facilitated transit between the Customs of Iran, Russia, and the Republic of Azerbaijan, suggesting signing a memorandum of understanding for the electronic exchange of customs information, as a means of facilitation, avoiding delays in the transportation of goods between the three countries.
Referring to his visit to the border crossings in the Republic of Dagestan, situated in the North Caucasus of Eastern Europe and Astrakhan Province, Jalali expressed satisfaction with the improvement of the customs process and facilitation of entry of goods into Russia in a meeting with Ruslan Davydov, the head of the Russian Federal Customs Service (FCS) on Friday.
Iran's ambassador to Russia pointed to the growing ties between Iran and Russia, citing inter-provincial cooperation as one of the factors for boosting ties between the two countries.
Iran's Jalali also reminded that Tehran and Moscow have already signed eight official customs agreements, including mutual administrative cooperation, exchange of statistical information, fighting customs fraud, facilitating transit, updating customs valuation, training employees, and green corridor.
He expressed hope that the trade between Iran and Russia would be facilitated by signing the agreement of authorized economic operators.
The Russian side, for his part, expressed its views on the development of bilateral ties in the meeting.
