Tehran (IP) - In a telephone conversation, the foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq condemned the insult to the Holy Quran in Sweden.

Iran PressIran news: An extremist named Selvan Momika, who insulted the Holy Quran in Stockholm on June 28, insulted the Holy Quran yesterday (Thursday) for the second time after obtaining permission from the Swedish police.

According to Iran Press, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, Fuad Hussein, called the insult to the Quran an insult to rationality and freedom of speech.

Amir Abdollahian and Fuad Hussein also condemned the irresponsible behavior of the Swedish government and emphasized the necessity of holding a meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Earlier, in a letter to the Secretary General of the United Nations, Iran's Foreign Minister, while condemning the insult to the sacred area of the Holy Quran in Sweden, asked him to take the necessary measures in order not to repeat and prevent the dangerous consequences of the spread and continuation of this insulting and provocative phenomenon.
