Tehran (IP) - The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of the Digital Economy Park was held with the presence of Iran’s Minister of Information and Communications, and Vice President for Science and Technology.

Iran Press/Iran News: Addressing the reporters on Monday on the sidelines of the signing ceremony of MoU between the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology and Science and Technology Vice-Presidency to create the Digital Economy Park, Minister of Information and Communications Technology Mohammad-Javad Azari-Jahromi said, “The government is working to build the infrastructure for young people to thrive in production, and these efforts are being made in two areas: knowledge-based economics and digital economics.”

“Building Digital Economy Parks and Science Technology Parks are examples of these activities and Pardis Technology Park is one of these parks which is well-developed,” Azari-Jahromi added. 

“Today, with the creation of a 30-hectare Digital Economy Park, good cooperation has been established between the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology and Science and Technology Vice-Presidency, and the park is scheduled to be operational by the end of this government,” he noted.

At the same event, the 1,100-square-meter Co-op Shared Workspace was inaugurated.

Head of the Co-op Shared Workspace Mohsen Ali-Akbarian told Iran Press correspondent: "This complex, which has the capacity to accept 150 people, is ready for investment by capital market activists and start-ups."

Referring to the role of knowledge-based companies in creating a surge in production, he added, "The more startups and knowledge-based companies are supported, the more young people will be motivated to enter the business world, and this in turn will lead to a surge in production."
