Manjil (IP) - Manjil has transformed into "Iran's Clean Energy City" by successfully implementing the Sefidroud Dam and wind power plant, generating electricity for the region.

Iran PressIran News: The Sefidroud Dam, also known as Manjil Dam, was constructed in 1962 at the beginning of the Sefidroud River, adjacent to Manjil City. This reservoir dam serves two purposes: regulating water for farmers' irrigation in Gilan province and producing electricity.

Its five power generation units have a total capacity of 87 megawatts.

Furthermore, the Manjil wind power plant, established in 1991 with 171 turbines, harnesses wind's kinetic energy and converts it into electrical energy. This impressive facility has a remarkable capacity to generate 90 megawatts of electricity.

The wind turbines have turned Manjil into a popular tourist destination within Gilan province.
