Iran Press/ Iran news: With its slogan, "We Stand for the Family," the festival strived to create a platform for expanding the distribution and exhibition pathways for works centered on women and families in Iran and worldwide.
Approximately 300 works from three genres of feature films, documentaries, and short films were sent to the international event from different countries worldwide.
The prestigious event began on July 7, coinciding with Iran's national observance of "Family Day."
The festival showcased a diverse collection of nearly 80 films, presented at national and international sections, and screened across 13 provinces nationwide.
The three-day event's main objective was to highlight women's significance in society and families' powerful impact on the social fabric.
Festival's Awards
Following, the awards of the national section of the first Hawa International Film Festival were announced as follows:
The award for the best documentary research was given to "Hadis Jan Bozuri for the documentary "Wahg."
The best documentary director award went to Mohammad Habibi Mansour for the movie "Bano."
The award for the best short fiction was awarded to Maryam Esmikhani and Vahid Hassanzadeh for the short film "Emergency Situation."
The award for the best screenplay went to Pejman Timurtas for "Shahrbanu."
The best director award went to Lili Aaj for the movie "Colonel Soraya."
The award for the festival's best film went to Mohammadreza Misbah for producing and Mehdi Jafari for directing the movie "Yadu."
