The US coronavirus death toll passed 110,000 while reported cases topped 1.9 million, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.

Iran Press/America: The United States reported 21,614 new infections on Thursday, and while that number is below its April peak, the daily average has been rising slightly in recent days as the continued improvement in Northeast is offset by new outbreaks in the South and parts of the West.

Cases worldwide neared 6.8 million, and deaths stood at more than 393,000. Experts say official totals likely understate the extent of the pandemic, partially because of different testing and reporting standards.
