Afghan media reported that at least seven people were killed and five others were injured in an attack on a mosque in Parwan province.

Iran Press/Asia: According to the IRIB  news agency, the attack took place on Tuesday evening 19 May in the village of Khalazai in Parwan province, during which worshipers were attacked by gunmen.

At least seven people were killed and five others were injured in the attack, Parwan provincial police chief Harun Mobarez confirmed.

Parwan governor’s spokeswoman Wahida Shahkar said unknown gunmen targeted worshippers during “iftar time”, referring to the meal eaten to break daytime fasting during the Islamic holy month.

"The elements of the ISIS terrorist group may be involved in this attack," Mobarez said.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
