Iran Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif

Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister at the Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission stated that there is no problem in exchanging prisoners and detainees between Iran and the United States, and it does not need to negotiate.

Iran Press/Iran News: Iran's Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif at the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said: "The efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran are to maintain the unity and strengthen the central government of Afghanistan, and this recent incident, which is a pretext for the enemies of Iran and Afghanistan, needs further investigation and we will definitely resolve the issue."

The recent incident in the Persian Gulf has caused sadness and grief," Zarif said, and added, "We extend our condolences to the families of the martyrs as well as the dear people over this incident."

"The Islamic Republic of Iran is strongly seeking to de-escalate tensions in the region and is doing its best in this regard," Zarif said at the meeting.

Iran's top diplomat also said that the United States cannot, under any pretext, prevent the lifting of arms embargoes.

He went on to say that the Americans are trying to prevent the lifting of Iran's arms embargo in accordance with the UN Security Council, which is definitely against international obligations.

Zarif added, "The US will not succeed in issuing a resolution with reference to JCPOA  because it has withdrawn from it."

In this regard, Iran's Foreign Minister said IAEA has an important role to play in this, and We are slowly approaching the end of sanctions under the UN Security Council, including the end of the arms embargo after five years, the end of Iran's missile embargo after eight years, and the end of monitoring nuclear activities after 10 years, thus the Islamic Republic of Iran will receive significant concessions."
