Rouhani underscores resumption of border exchanges with neighbors

Tehran (IP) - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in a telephone conversation with the Minister of Roads and Urban Development stressed the need to resume border exchanges and transportation of goods with neighboring countries to strengthen economic and trade cooperation.

Iran PressIran news: In a telephone conversation with the Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami on Friday, Hassan Rouhani referred to his recent talks with the leaders of some countries, including neighboring countries, and their willingness to resume border exchanges and transportation of goods, instructing the minister to make necessary arrangements for this purpose as soon as possible, with full observance of health protocols.

Rouhani was also informed about the latest situation of the country's transportation in the period of implementing Smart Distancing plan, emphasizing the application of creative plans in the field of transportation and said, "The distancing scheme put forward by the Ministry of Health should be made in such a way as to prevent the spread of the disease while eliminating people's concerns".

In the phone call, the president also stressed the need to complete unfinished projects in the country, despite the difficult economic conditions caused by unfair US sanctions and the economic consequences of Coronavirus outbreak, with the aim of fulfilling the motto of Surge in Production, stressing, "Necessary measures should be taken to complete the projects with more than 80 percent physical progress".

Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami also gave a comprehensive report on the implementation process of the ministry's plans and projects, as well as the status of the National Housing Action Scheme.
