Iran Press/Asia: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) news agency on April 1 introduced five Asian stars competing in the World Cup and asked its users to select the player who has performed best in the FIFA World Cup.
At the end of the 14-day poll, Alireza Beiranvand won 68 percent of the vote, with more than 697,000 votes and named as the best Asian player in World Cup history.
Beiranvand beat Japanese legendary midfielder Keisuke Honda who earned 24 percent of the vote.
