Tehran (IP) - Iran's head of 'State Welfare Organization' "SWO" said on Sunday that about %5.3 of elders and disabled of Iranians are more prone to be infected by the virus and 4.8 percent are prone to death due to their critical conditions.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking at the video press conference held at Health ministry on Sunday, April 12, the head of State Welfare Organization (SWO) Vahid Qobadi-Dana talked about the measures that have been taken by the organization to combat COVID-19 and provide services to those who have been infected by COVID-19.

He added that there is no disabled, elder person and even addicted one who claims that not to be received services by the SWO at the Coronavirus crisis.

Iran's deputy health minister official called the main step by SWO as acting in time to take precautionary measurements as well as combatting the virus at the time of COVID-19 outbreak in China on January 2020.

Elsewhere Qobadi Dana explained further that about %5.3 of elders and disabled of Iran are more prone to be infected by the virus and 4.8 percent are prone to death due to their critical conditions.

"Out of 2,531 elderly care centers just 45 centers have been infected to the virus, the fact which represents 1.8 percent of the whole country. ", added Iran's SWO official.

"And by April 11, 55 elders have lost their lives which means %1.2 of the total death in the country, with 70 percent of them being over 70," stated Qobadi Dana,

SWO has also offered more than 57,000 hygienic packages to street-child laborers and homeless people all across the country.

1480 is a hotline for those who would experience feelings of disorder, anxiety, stress, and strain.

"They could receive services for free and can enjoy consultations offered by some 400 psychologists, also 'Corona.behzisti.ir' is a site to register the cases like mental disorder, anxiety, stress, fear and lethargy," he elaborated.

SWO Chief also said homeless addicts have been provided with medical services as well and they have been instructed and trained on how to take care of themselves.
