Research on Plasma therapy for COVID-19 patients kicks off

Alborz (IP) - The head of Iran's Razi Institute announced the launch of a plasma therapy research project for patients diagnosed with a corona in Alborz province, west of Tehran.

Iran PressIran News: The head of Razi Institute of Iran Ali Eshaqi said on Friday evening that due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country and studies on plasma therapy for patients suffering from it, joint meetings were held between Razi Institute, Alborz University of Medical Sciences and the Blood Transfusion Organization of Iran to start the implementation of this project in Alborz province as a joint research project.

Eshaqi added: "In this regard, Razi Institute will evaluate the level of antibodies of improved individuals for injection to patients and the relevant immune response in cooperation with Alborz University of Medical Sciences and the Iranian Blood Transfusion Organization."

In this regard, a member of the board of directors of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Nasser Riahi, stated that Iran is the first country in the implementation of plasma therapy for patients with coronary heart disease. 207
