Egyptian military forces attacked in Northern Sinai

Egyptian sources reported Thursday a terrorist attack on a checkpoint station in the west of Rafah in Northern Sinai province.

Iran Press/Africa: Egyptian sources announced at least two Egyptian soldiers were killed and three others were wounded in the attack. 

Egypt has been facing increasing insecurity and terrorist attacks in recent years, especially after the overthrow of the government of Mohamed Morsi in 2013.

The increase of insecurity and terrorist attacks in Egypt has caused great discontent among the people of the current Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

Former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi was ousted in 2013 following a military coup led by Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

Al-Sisi was the then Minister of Defense of Egypt.
