Tehran (IP) - The Commander of the Ground Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) reported a biologic defense and environment cleaning drill ‘Health-Defending Martyrs’ to be kicked off on Wednesday.

Iran PressIran News: Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour said in a news conference on Tuesday that 3000 places across the country as well as 100 places in Tehran, the capital, has been identified for being cleaned.

In the last month airports and terminals have been disinfected professionally, General Pakpour stated, adding that more than 70% of hospital beds have been used for the coronavirus-infected patients.

He said IRGC’s Baghiyatallah hospital has the most number of patients with Covid-19, which is an achievement for the military.

“We have established 3500 beds in rehabilitation centers and are able to increase this number to 5000,” he added.

“Many of our forces which have been trained in medicine are helping the patients in ICU and CCU sections of the hospitals,” the commander noted.

Referring to rehabilitation centers the IRGC has established in Tehran and other parts of the country, General Pakpour said IRGC’s activities are divided into health and treatment as well as cleaning and disinfecting.

Referring to the contribution of the Basij Medical Community in the national campaign against Coronavirus said, "the maneuver and exercise are in complete coordination with the National Corona Headquarter.
