US sanctions obstacle to fight against Coronavirus: Iranian envoy to UN

The Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Majid Takht Ravanchi in his latest tweet stated that the US sanctions against Iran are obstacles in countering coronavirus.

Iran PressAmerica: The Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Majid Takht Ravanchi in his latest tweet said when he was in Iran he saw how people and the government of Iran work hard to defeat Covid-19, but US sanctions are obstructing their efforts.

He said that it is high time for the US to de-politicize this humanitarian endeavor and lift sanctions. International crises necessitate genuine international efforts, he reiterated.

Earlier Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said the US opened a financial channel for procuring medicine but it is limited and does not let Iran use its resources in different countries to secure medicine and medical needs for Coronavirus situation in the country.
