Italy receives experts, ventilators and masks from China

Following a phone call between the Italian and Chinese foreign ministers, China send experts, ventilators and masks to fight against Coronavirus in Italy.

Iran Press/ Europe: Responding to the emergency call from Italy, China agreed to send over two million face masks and some 10,000 lung ventilators, 20,000 protective suits, along with 50,000 test kits to Italy under contracts signed after the phone call between the two foreign ministers on Tuesday.

China also sent a medical expert team to Italy to help fight the epidemic at request from Italy.

Italian foreign minister Luigi Di Maio during a phone conversation with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, also spoke about the shortage of drugs in the country.

Italy accused the EU and its member states of not responding to the commission's call for ensuring extra supplies of medical equipment amid the outbreak of the COVID-19, urging to take 'quick, concrete and effective' emergency actions beyond engagement and consultation.

Italy has recorded a jump of 2,313 Coronavirus cases on Wednesday, with the total tally now at 12,462, the country's Civil Protection Agency said. 207
