Iran's ambassador to Islamabad Seyyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini and Pakistan Minister of Maritime Affairs Seyed Ali Haider Zaidi discussed the development of common relations, including cooperation in ports and shipping on Wednesday.

Iran PressAsia: Hosseini emphasized the need to pursue agreements achieved during Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan's visit to Iran, including ports and maritime cooperation.

Hosseini stressed the importance of continuing bilateral consultations to promote economic relations and called for broadening ties between the Iranian and Pakistani people, including the development of recreational, health and religious tourism.

For his part, Pakistan's Minister of Maritime Affairs welcomed the expansion of cooperation with Iran in the field of ports and seas.

Zaidi also stressed the need to fight the Coronavirus and the need for continued consultations between the two countries.

The two sides discussed the latest conditions for Iranian and Pakistani nationals crossing the common border and the shipping fleet of the two countries.

Hosseini and Zaidi also emphasized the need to strengthen security at the common border, to effectively tackle the phenomenon of smuggling across borders, as well as to regulate the business activities between the two countries.
