Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs and the Secretary-General of International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Swiss' Geneva discussed ways of dispatching medical equipment to Iran to control Coronavirus of Covid-2019.

Iran Press/Europe:Mohsen Baharvand in a meeting with Elhadj As Sy on Thursday examined how the federation could assist in delivering medical equipment, including diagnostic kits and protective equipment for Covid-2019 treatment staff to Iran.

Baharvand emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always tried to keep humanitarian and professional issues out of political disputes; whereas the current US government, especially the Secretary of State, has sought and falsely exploited the political use of a humanitarian issue in an unethical and far from the professional manner and even lies about that.

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs stated that the Coronavirus does not have a nationality and may become a global problem, so it needs to be globally tackled and curbed.

The Coronavirus outbreak began in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, and appears to have been originated from non-domestic animals.

In addition to 30 Chinese provinces, the virus has now spread to more than 40 countries, including West Asian countries.

According to the latest figures, more than 82,000 people worldwide have been infected with the virus, of whom, more than 32,000 have been recovered and more than 2,800 have died.
