Tehran Book Fair will be held after Ramadan

Tehran (IP) - A spokeswoman for the 34th Tehran International Book Fair announced the postponement of the cultural event and said that by the decision of the Policymaking Council, the 33rd Tehran Book Fair will be held after the Islamic month of Ramadan.

Iran PressIran news: Ayoub Dehqankar said: "Given that the purpose of the Tehran Book Fair is to create a peaceful and enjoyable environment, a cultural environment for book lovers and book readers and on the other hand a venue for strengthening of the economic cycle of the country's publishing, in view of the current conditions of society, the Policymaking Council announced that April 15 is not appropriate to run the book fair optimally."

He added: "According to the council decree the time of holding the 33rd book fair was postponed after Ramadan."

The spokesman for the 33rd Tehran Book Fair added: "Considering the coordinates of the Tehran Book Fair, millions of visitors and enthusiasts, the presence of foreign publishers and guests, and the principle that the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance aims to set up the exhibition in a space far from any concern and contribution to the development and promotion of reading and reading culture in the community is it not appropriate to hold the event at the beginning of the new year to achieve preset goals." 104/207
