Iran Press/ Middle East: The real name of Abu Fadak - known as the "uncle" - is not publicly known. But he has been prominent ever since joining the founding core of Kataeb Hezbollah forces back in 1997, which carried out operations against Dictator Saddam Hussein’s government from the marshes of southern Iraq.
He was close to Muhandis and is known for his military prowess and confidence.
An Asaib Ahl al-Haq commander said earlier that “Abu Fadak is strong and a true leader with honorable positions and good relations with all."
Former Deputy Chief of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (al-Hashed al-Sha'abi), Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, along with the late Commander of Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, who had traveled to Iraq on the official invitation of the Iraqi officials, was assassinated by the US air-raid in Baghdad on January 3, 2020.
Many countries, organizations, and groups have condemned the US terrorist act.
