Tehran (IP) - A law professor described Lt.Gen. Qassem Soleimani as an international figure in the fight against terrorism.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking at a meeting of the review of the legal and international aspects of the assassination of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani at the Judicial Research Institute in Tehran, a Tehran University Professor Ahmad Momeni Rad, said, "Donald Trump, Mike Pompeo, and the claims of the other US officials are in no way acceptable based on international law and human rights standards. This is an international assassination by a rogue government that officially admitted it."

"Based on the principles of international law and according to the treaties and conventions, this has been a Targeted killing which has no legal basis. Even the US officials inside the country have expressed their opposition to this US act, saying it was unlawful and illegitimate," he noted.

From the point of view of world peace and security, martyred Lieutenant General Soleimani was an international figure who had charisma; the emotions of millions of people in Iran, in the region, and even in the world has been damaged, and from this point of view we can provide a legal basis that can be presented in relevant institutions.
