Tehran (IP) - The IRGC naval commander, Alireza Tangsiri delivered a speech during the 27th Iran's Maritime organizations liaison Conference.

Iran PressIran news: The 27th Iran's Maritime organizations liaison Conference was held on Monday afternoon in Tehran. During the conference, the IRGC naval commander Alireza Tangsiri stated: "We have access to high seas from the south to the Indian Ocean and the Persian Gulf, and from the north to the Caspian Sea, and more than 90 percent of our merchandise ships by sea, which necessitates marine development."

He added: "The policy of sea-based development in the country can lead to the flourishing of the national economy."

During the conference, Road and Urban Development Minister Mohammad Eslami stated: "If we are trying to strengthen our economy, we must develop our maritime. Sanctions are creating an opportunity for us. The sanctions are never being considered as a threat to stop us. The sanctions have boosted our talents. Our seas should be just a place for foreign visitors and tourists, but it should be for our own people."      

The 27th Iran's Maritime organizations liaison Conference was held on Monday afternoon with the attendance of Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami, Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) Head Mohammad Rastad, Marine Corps Commander, Director of Ports and Maritime Affairs, MPs and CEOs of the National Iranian Petroleum Corporation and the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Company at the National Library conference hall in Tehran. 104/207
