Top IRGC Commander Major General Hossein Salami

Tehran (IP) - Top Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Major General Salami has emphasised that Iran's attack on the US Ain al-Assad airbase in Iraq has disrupted Washington's calculations, with the attack being the starting point and not the end of Iran’s strategic response to Washington's act of terrorism.

Iran PressIran news: In an interview with al-Mayadeen television channel on Monday, Major General Hossein Salami said: "Americans have always been accustomed to aggressive behaviours and military actions against their victims without any retaliation or response of any kind, but Iran's response led to Washington's miscalculations and disrupted its equations."

The Top Commander of IRGC, emphasized the global impact of Iran's action in attacking the US airbase at Ain al-Assad in western Iraq, saying Iran's response to the assassination of top martyred General Qasem Soleimani took place at a specific geographic location, but the impact was global.

Major General Salami pointed out that the attack on Ain al-Assad airbase was not the end of Iran's strategic response, rather it was the beginning.

The IRGC commander stressed that all Israeli-occupied territories were within Iran's reach.

In the early hours of January 8, the IRGC's aerospace unit launched a successful attack against US forces in Ain al-Assad airbase in western Iraq with tens of missiles.

The number of US troops suffering from a brain injury from Iran's missile attack on a US military base in Iraq last month has reached more than 100 compared to 64 previously reported.
