US military casualties and damages in Ain al-Assad to be revealed soon: IRGC Deputy Commander
Tehran (IP) - Deputy Commander of Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) due to the ongoing processes inside US, all aspects of the casualties and damages to its military base in Iraq's Ain al-Assad will be revealed soon.
Iran Press/ Iran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on the sideline of the Congregation of Defenders of Security and Holy Shrine held in Tehran on Friday, Admiral Ali Fadavi noted because of the bipartisan competitions inside US, the casualties' figures of IRGC operation will be revealed by all dimensions.
Admiral Fadavi told the Iran Press correspondent that one of the devilish enemy's characteristics is its cowardliness in the time of war, adding that the US suffered casualties but did not announce the casualties.
The Islamic Republic waits and will announce the figures, but it is better the casualties are uncovered by the US authorities themselves, he said.
In the early hours of January 8, the IRGC's aerospace unit launched a successful attack against US forces in Ain al-Assad airbase in western Iraq and another in Erbil, in the north of the country.
The attack came in response to a US terrorist drone strike days earlier that martyred one of Iran's top Generals, the former Commander of IRGC's elite Quds Force, Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani.
In a statement released in the early hours of Wednesday morning, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed that a US airbase in western Iraq has been hit with 'tens of missiles'.
