Iran Press/ Iran News: The special ceremony for the late commander of Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani and his companions will be held in Kerman on February 16 and in other provinces and cities to be held on February 13 and 16 according to provincial conditions and planning.
Traditionally, the Muslim mourning period lasts 40 days.

At the time, Reuters compared the people’s presence in Tehran's funeral to the historic presence of Iranians in the funeral processions of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini (RH).
Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, who had traveled to Iraq at the official invitation of the Iraqi government, was assassinated in a US drone strike and air-raid in Baghdad on Friday 3 January 2020, along with his colleagues and companions.
