Iran's Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin in Moscow on Friday, exchanging views on Syria's developments.

Iran Press/Europe: During the meeting, Jalali and Vershinin exchanged views on regional and international issues, including the current situation in Syria, reaffirming their support of the Syrian Constitutional Committee in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the Iranian ambassador and the Russian deputy foreign minister have emphasized the continued cooperation of the two countries in resolving the Syrian crisis in the context of the Astana process.

The first meeting of the Syrian Constitutional Committee was held on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, under the auspices of the United Nations in Geneva.

The crisis in Syria began in 2011 with the widespread aggression of terrorist groups backed by Saudi Arabia, the US, and their allies to change the region's equations in favor of the Zionist Regime of Israel.
