Iran PressIran news: Iran's national museum is the largest and oldest museum of Iran, and houses some of the most precious archeological artifacts which have been found in the country.
The National Museum has been built on a 5500 square meter plot of land. It has 11000 square meters of built space and the main building of the Museum is on three floors.
The National Museum building is rectangular cubic in shape and can be split into three parts.

A grand fortress-like entrance which reminds us of Sassanid era architecture, the building is made up of red bricks with high long red brick walls. The National Building Museum stands majestically in North Tehran.
The Museum houses a fine collection of ancient archeological artifacts/items such as pottery, weapons, and instruments of war, decorative objects, and figurines of both humans and animals.
Metallic objects from the late Bronze Age and the beginning of the Iron Age are on public display at the Museum. There are also a collection of metallic tools and objects, as well as plates and dishes shaped like humans and animals. There are also a number of animal-shaped plates and shiny gray pottery with polished surfaces, and odd-shaped pottery with long drainage pipes attached to them.
