Iran Press/America: Diosdado Cabello made the remarks on Thursday at the Universal conference of fighting against Imperialism called 'For Life, Sovereignty and Peace' held in the Venezuelan capital of Caracas.
In the opening ceremony held on Thursday morning, with the envoys of China, Islamic Republic of Iran, Syria, Cuba, Palestine, Nicaragua in attendance, Cabello, who is also the deputy of United Socialist Party of Venezuela, referred to the cowardly assassination of Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani by the US and called it a true instance of terrorism, saying that martyr Soleimani is a martyr of the path of righteousness and justice. He called on the audience to pay homage to Lt. Gen. Qasim Soleimani and they were standing to do so.
Head of Venezuela's Constituent National Assembly also called the recent so-called anti-terrorism conference held in Bogotá attended by Venezuela's opposition leader Juan Guaidó and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo during the past week, as a terrorist gathering.
He added that the true anti-terrorism conference is now being held in Caracas.
Syria's Bilal Tahsin was another keynote speaker of the opening ceremony. He called the Syrian resistance movement and the failure of the terrorists in this war-torn country to be profoundly indebted to martyr Soleimani's courage and sacrifice and called for unity among the anti-imperialist blocs.
The event which kicked off in Alba Hotel in the Venezuelan capital is attended by more than 89 representatives of Venezuelan social movements, labor syndicates, political parties as well as the participants from 51 countries all around the world including the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Organized by the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), the event which will continue until Friday, comprises of several committees, discussing different topics.
