Iran Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali (R) And Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Andriy Rudenko (L)

Moscow (IP) - In a joint meeting on Tuesday, Iran's Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Central Asian and Caucasian Affairs, Andriy Rudenko discussed the necessity of mutual cooperation between the two countries in the Central Asian and Caucasian affairs.

 They stressed the necessity of the continuation of mutual cooperation as well as mutual counseling between the two countries, Iran Press reported.

The two sides also discussed the bilateral ties, recent developments in Afghanistan, the Caspian Sea as well as Central Asian and Caucasian affairs.

While extending his condolences over the martyrdom of Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, the top Commander of Quds Force of Islamic Revolution Guards corps by American terrorists as well as the Ukrainian passenger plane crash in Tehran, Rudenko called the US measure to assassinate Martyred Soleimani as an unlawful act and violation of any humanitarian law.

Russian top diplomat also reiterated that Iran is an important country in the region. He also stressed the fact that Moscow is going to develop its ties with Tehran in the near future.

Referring to the vast extent of Iran - Russia ties, Jalali said that the situation in West Asia invites a continuation of Iran-Russia development of ties and cooperation in the different fields especially in Central Asian and Caucasian Affairs.
