Iran Press/Middle East: The 4-day exhibition which kicked off on 14 January and wraps up on Saturday 18 January, aims to maintain market share and increase the market share of Iranian products in the Iraqi market, introducing the specialist products and services of 110 Iranian companies from all over Iran.
The exhibition has been welcomed by the local Kurdish and Arab population of northern Iraq, and government statistics show that economic and business relations between the two countries are on the rise.
According to an Iran Press report, in May 2018, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on development of economic ties was signed between Iran and the semi-autonomous Iraqi Kurdistan region at a joint economic forum attended by a number of Iranian and Kurdish economic officials, as well as leading businessmen and industrialists from the two sides in Erbil.
The main goal of the forum was to explore economic opportunities between Iran and the Iraqi Kurdistan Region.
Also in June 2019, a delegation from the Iraqi Kurdistan region participated in the 'Sanandaj Production Boom Exhibition'.
