Southeast Iran hit by flood

IP, Tehran - Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian arrived at Chabahar airport late on Monday to visit flood-hit areas in southeastern Sistan and Balouchestan province.

Iran Press/Iran news: Larijani and Ardakanian who were welcomed by the governor-general and provincial officials are scheduled to visit the province's areas affected by heavy rains that have damaged homes, farms, agricultural facilities, roads, and infrastructure.

At least 1,248 people trapped in the floods were rescued in some 40 towns and villages in Sistan and Baluchestan in the last four days.

The unprecedented flash floods have hit 350 villages, damaging thousands of residential buildings.
