Iran summons German diplomat

The German charge d'affaires in Tehran was summoned to the Iranian Foreign Ministry on Sunday following unrealistic and destructive remarks by a section of German officials supporting the assassination of Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani in Iraq, the ministry said in a statement.

Iran Press/Iran News: General Soleimani is respected as a counter-terrorism champion not only in Iran but also at the regional and international level, the German diplomat was told by the head of West Europe desk at Iran's Foreign Ministry.

Referring to unrealistic and destructive remarks by certain German officials who supported the US terrorist act of assassinating commander of Quds Force of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Friday, the Iranian diplomat said they were one-sided, unacceptable and contrary to traditional relations of Iran and Germany.

The German charge d'affaires acknowledged the popularity of martyred General Soleimani and said he will convey the matter to his respective country.
