Protests over the American airstrike that martyred Lieutenant-General Qasem Soleimani were held on Sunday in Istanbul, Turkey.

Iran PressAsia: Dozens of people gathered in the Consulate General of Iran in Istanbul, Turkey to pay tribute to the late Commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani, assassinated in US airstrike in Iraq.

Martyred Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, Abu Mehdi al-Muhandis, the deputy chief of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization (al-Hashed al-Sha'abi), along with a number of other military figures were martyred by direct order of US president President Donald Trump in the early hours of Friday morning (January 3, 2020).

Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani was assassinated along with several senior members of Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) on Friday Morning 3 January at Baghdad International airport.

Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani was awarded by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as the first Iranian military official to hold Iran’s highest military order, the Order of Zulfaqar after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. 219
