The president of Iran's Supreme National Defense University said that Americans and Israelis must await Iran's painful response and powerful revenge.

Iran Press/Iran news: Referring to the cowardly assassination of the commander of the Quds Force of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani on Saturday night, Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said: "Iran would act very deliberately, complex and painful in its response to the Americans."

US, seeking to 'revive ISIS'

The former commander of the Quds Force IRGC called that the assassination of Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani as 'state terrorism', saying: "They martyred a senior military commander who prevented and suppressed unbridled terrorism such as ISIS."

"The US is seeking to 'revive ISIS' by assassinating him, so their crime is also a war crime," he added.

Referring to the aim of General Soleimani's trip to Iraq, the president of Iran's Supreme National Defense University said: "The Americans have brought some of the ISIS troops from Syria and other places to Iraq and want to resuscitate them. Qasem Soleimani traveled to Iraq at the invitation of the Iraqi government to prevent this."

Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, military commander of Iran’s elite Quds Force, along with a number of other military figures were martyred by direct order of US President Donald Trump in the early hours of Friday morning 3 January 2020.
