The Iranian foreign minister reiterated that his recent trip to Japan was the first such trip in 19 years, and that after very good meetings and discussions with Japanese foreign ministry officials, as well as leading Japanese industrialists and businessmen, we celebrated 90 years of diplomatic ties between Tehran and Tokyo.

Iran Press/Iran news: Tweeting on his return to Tehran, Mohammad Javad Zarif wrote: "President Rouhani's trip to Japan, with a hectic diplomatic and business schedule, ended with his return to Tehran on Saturday afternoon, just in time for Yalda Night celebrations."

Zarif further wrote in his Twitter account: "We had very good meetings and discussions with Japanese foreign ministry officials, as well as leading Japanese industrialists and businessmen, we celebrated 90 years of diplomatic ties between Iran and Japan."

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani arrived in Tokyo Japan on Friday morning, heading a senior political and economic delegation.

President Rouhani who was invited to Japan by prime minister Shinzo Abe, had a meeting and discussion with the Japanese Prime Minister, as well as top economic, industrial and business leaders of Japan.
