Iran Press/ Iran news: The Secretary of SNSC Ali Shamkhani made the remarks on Tuesday in a meeting with Tajik National Security Secretary Mohammad Ali Vatanzadeh, saying that the promotion of ISIS-oriented Islam is among the strategies of the US and the Zionist regime to spread islamophobia and sow discord and create conflict and crisis in the Islamic countries of the region.
Heading a high-level security delegation, Tajik National Security Secretary has traveled to Iran to attend the 2nd session of the Regional Security Dialogue and had a meeting with Shamkhani to discussed bilateral, regional and international issues.
Speaking at the meeting, Shamkhani referred to the numerous cultural, ethnic, religious and linguistic ties between Iran and Tajikistan, noting that Iran has no restrictions on the development of bilateral relations and cooperation.
Welcoming the presence of his Tajik counterpart at the second Regional Security Dialogue in Tehran, he emphasized the two countries' cooperation in countering the threat of ISIS’ revival and expansion.
Mohammad Ali Vatanzadeh, for his part, called the Regional Security Dialogue meeting which is to be held on Afghanistan an important occasion for sharing efforts on one of the region's most important security challenges.
Referring to Tajikistan's long shared borders with Afghanistan, he said that insecurity in Afghanistan has an impact on Tajik national security, adding that an extremist terrorist group in the name of Islam must not be allowed to make the country insecure and destabilize the region with mounting security challenges.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Shamkhani said the 2nd session of the Regional Security Dialogue will be held in Tehran with the top security officials of Iran, Russia, China, India, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan in attendance.
He added that the one-day gathering focuses on the issue of Afghanistan and the fight against various forms of terrorism in the country.
The 1st session of the Regional Security Dialogue was held in September last year with the participation of Iran, Russia, China, India and Afghanistan in a bid to increase coordination among regional countries against Takfiri terrorism.
