Tehran (IP) - Deputy Minister of Roads and CEO of Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) said one hundred and 5 million tons of cargoes have off-loaded or loaded in Iranian ports during the last year.

Iran Press/Iran News: In an exclusive interview with Iran press on the sidelines of the Transport and Logistics exhibition here in Tehran, Mohammad Rastad said, "One of the sections of the exhibition is the maritime exhibition that we are trying to show how the maritime sector of the Islamic Republic of Iran could make advantages of the potentials of the Iranian producers especially to develop what we need on the ports and maritime sector."

"More than 761 pieces of the maritime fleet and port equipment were exhibited today which was produced indigenously by Iranian manufacturers which could have a lot of economic benefits for the maritime sector," deputy minister noted.

"On the other hand, fortunately, due to the vast capacity of the ports and maritime fleet of the Islamic Republic of Iran, this year we have witnessed the growth of the maritime traffic at least 5 percent comparing to the last Iranian year," Rastad concluded.205/204
