Tehran (IP) - The Fourth International Exhibition on Transport, Logistics, and related industries in Asia kicked off in Grand Mosalla complex in Tehran with the attendance of Minister of Road and Urban Development.

Iran Press/Iran News: Iran's Minister of Road and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami delivered a speech in the opening ceremony of the fourth international exhibition on transport and logistics. 

"We have developed transit ways to neighboring countries. Among them, for both China and also Turkey (which is the way to Europe transit) new ways have opened", Eslami said.

"Artificial intelligence is going to be applied in railway transportation in Iran in the near future", the minister highlighted.

It should be noted that 385 companies have attended 120 of which are Knowledge-based ones.

The Iranian Minister went on to say: "Development in rural roads is one of the issues we faced sanctions in this regard."

"We are in full harmony with the countries on our transit routes," He also said.

Eslami noted, "In the past year we have tried to identify and remove barriers and to exchange views and documents in all Joint Commissions' meetings as well as in neighboring countries. We solved the problems."

Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development emphasized: "Today we are in full harmony with the countries on our transit routes; we are members of the CIS railways and have started multilateral agreements with freight trains eastward to China and also to Europe and we use this line as a rail line to increase the volume of our transit loading."

"In Chabahar port in 2017, 800 to 900 thousand tons of cargo were transported annually but in 2018 this figure increased to 2.5 million tons and in 2019 the cargo volume exceeded 2.4 million tons," the high ranking official made the remark.

The Minister of Roads and Urban Development further noted that Chabahar-Zahedan Railway is being completed and we hope to open it at the beginning of 2022 with the allocation of $ 300 million from the National Development Fund of Iran (NDFI).

"We hope that by investing in Imam Airport (IKA) we will be able to relieve the country's air transport system from the very bad situation of Tehran-centered via launching 6 hubs to increase international flights in these hubs," he said. 104/219
