Minister: knowledge-based companies, herald of promising atmosphere for academics

Iran's Minister of Sciences in an open session of Parliament called knowledge-based companies as the source of a promising atmosphere for academic society.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's Minister of Sciences Mansour Gholami said on Tuesday that the development of knowledge-based companies has created an atmosphere of hope among the academics.

"The executive bodies should pay attention to the knowledge-based companies", stressed Gholami.

"The best support the knowledge-based companies could receive is that their products would be protected in the market so that the entry of the similar non-Iranian products into the market would be limited or even banned", highlighted Gholami.

Iran's Minister of Sciences made the remark that the exports of the products made by the knowledge-based companies also should be expected.

Also Vice President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari said that over 6,000 startups and 4,700 knowledge-based companies are active in the country.

He referred that the newest generation of entrepreneurs are under 30 years old, adding, "98% of drug production is done domestically and in knowledge-based companies."

Sattari also stated that the parliament has considered a good budget for knowledge-based companies in the coming year.

In this regard, Iran's head of Knowledge-Based Companies and Institutions Mohammad Sahebkar Khorasani  said, "Currently, 4,700 knowledge-based companies are operating in Iran that can help achieve a non-oil economy."

Khorasani reiterated that following the guidance of Iran's Leader regarding the components of the resistive economy, a new movement has begun to support knowledge-based corporations.

"Oil-free economy, avoiding unrefined oil sale, combating sanctions and managing various industries with innovative technology are among the achievements of the knowledge-based companies," he added.

Also in this subject, Asadollah Abbasi, a member of the parliament's presiding board, told reporters that the main topic of today's parliament session was to remove the barriers of knowledge-based companies.
