Regional players cannot stand friendly relations of Iran, Azerbaijan: Top Cmdr.

Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Mohammad Baqeri, stated that some regional and trans-regional players cannot tolerate the friendly relations of the two nations.

Iran Press/Iran news: The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces said on Wednesday during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev in Tehran that some regional and trans-regional players cannot stand friendly relations between the two countries.

Baqeri further stated that "The Islamic Republic of Iran considers the relations between the people and the Muslim armed forces of the two countries as one of its strategic priorities and is determined to provide the opportunities and capacities needed to enhance it," Iran Press reported.

During the meeting, Baqeri and Mustafayev discussed the broadening of the security and defense cooperation among the two sides and the necessity of deepening and strengthening it with a strategic perspective.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan also met Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
