Tehran (IP) - Deputy Commander of Iran's Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) called the true mission of Basij as the one which is as lofty as the Islamic Revolution of Iran as a whole.

Iran Press/Iran news: Brigadier General Ali Fadavi in an exclusive interview with Iran press news agency called Basij (volunteer forces) as the complete collection whose mission is proportionate with the totality of the Islamic Revolution.

IRGC's top commander emphasized that Basij has always been present where ever the safeguarding of the Islamic Revolution of Iran would be necessary.

Referring to the recent unrest and riots during the last week by the enemies of the Islamic Revolution, Brigadier General Fadavi went on to highlight that" thanks to presence of Basij all across the country, in less than 48 hours the sedition which has been orchestrated by the enemies of the Islamic revolution and led by United States of America was foiled."

Fadavi pointed to the quick and efficient act of Basij forces to stand against the rioters in only 48 hours, calling the move as the unique one all around the world and described it as the proof of Basij deep-rooted linking within the Iranian nation.

The government decided on Friday, November 15, 2019, to cut gasoline subsidies to fund schemes for direct help to low-income and middle-income families.

On Saturday, November 16, President Hassan Rouhani, Parliament Speaker َAli Larijani and Judiciary Chief Ebrahim Raisi convened a session of the Supreme Council of Economic Coordination and agreed that all state bodies should fully cooperate to implement the decision.

Following the decision, some cities in Iran have witnessed largely peaceful protests, but there have been instances of violent behavior by some rioters, such as destruction and burning of some public and private property.

However; the people all across Iran have been marching so far to voice their support of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and disgust with recent rioters' actions.205
