German chancellor and Indian prime minister reaffirmed their commitment to the JCPOA during a meeting in New Delhi on Friday

Indian prime minister and German chancellor in a joint statement on Friday reaffirmed their full commitment to the JCPOA.

Iran Press/Asia: The joint statement during the visit of Chancellor of Germany to India said that the issues surrounding the 2015 nuclear agreement known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) should be solved peacefully and through political dialogue.

According to the statement, "India and Germany reaffirmed their support for the continued full implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) signed between Iran and the E3+3. The issues that have arisen around it should be resolved peacefully through political dialogue. India and Germany agreed that full compliance with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian Nuclear Programme and the UN Security Council Resolution 2231 was needed to ensure regional and international peace and security and that current issues need to be resolved peacefully through dialogue and confidence building, including through efforts towards de-escalation of ongoing tensions."

Merkel arrived in New Delhi on a two-day official visit to the country.
