Iran Press/ Asia: Shahrbanoo Mansouriyan and Maryam Hashemi from Iran claimed two gold medals at the 15th edition of the World Wushu Championships on Monday.
The competitions are being held in Shanghai, China from October 18 to 23.
Mansouriyan defeated Brazilian Raine Cristina De Oliveira Martins in the women's 70kg final bout.
In the women’s 75kg, Maryam Hashemi defeated Indian athlete Poonam and won a gold medal.
Players from 102 countries and regions have participated in the competition, the most high-level contest within the Wushu sport.
Sanda (sometimes called sanshou) is a modern fighting method and a full contact sport which contains boxing, kicks (kickboxing), and wrestling.
The hosts will be hoping for a repeat of their success at the 2017 World Championships in Kazan, where they achieved 15 golds to top the medal table. 207/211/209
