Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister has said if the Saudis believe that buying weapons will not help their security and decide to come to us we would certainly welcome that.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in further comments said: "Iran has always sought security in the Persian Gulf and maritime security and it is others who have made the Persian Gulf insecure."

Referring to a four-point plan drafted by French President Emmanuel Macron, Zarif said: "Iran's points-of-view in the Macron plan are not properly set out. Negotiations and contacts need to continue," Iran Press reported.

Zarif continued by saying: "President Macron and French Foreign Minister are interested in solving the issue. We had meetings with the French Foreign Minister and also the Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo on the issue. So we continue our efforts along common paths, while we are moving forward in the route if they do not fulfil their obligations we will also reduce our commitments."

"We reduced our commitments on May 8, 2019. We informed Europeans and told them that they have a year to give us an answer. Our actions were the remedy," the Foreign Minister noted. 101/211/216
