Six Al-Shabab members killed in Somalia

Six members of the Al-Shabab terrorist group killed in the Jubaland region, southern Somalia.

Iran Press/Africa: The six terrorists were killed in a joint operation between the Somali Army and the Jubaland region forces, Somali sources reported on Saturday.

Nine members of Al-Shabab were also injured in the operation on Friday.

The Al-Shabab terrorist group has been trying to overthrow Somalia's central government since 2007.

Al-Shabab was ousted from Mogadishu in 2011 by the Somali army and African Union troops; however, the terrorist group still controls large parts of Somalia's rural areas.
