Lorestan (IP) - Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development said that the country plans to connect its rail network to the regional and then international rail network.

Iran Press/Iran news: "Iran connects with Iraq and Republic of Azerbaijan via railroad and it will be extended to the regional and then international rail network," Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mohammad Eslami told Iran Press.

Talking on the sideline of inaugurating some road projects in Lorestan, west of Iran, he added that the country and neighboring rail and road transit valium reaches 10 million tonnes.

He also came on to say that passenger train services resumed between Iran and Turkey's capital city of Ankara after years that it was stalled.

The Tehran-Ankara passenger train was launched last Wednesday in a ceremony attended by Saeed Rasouli, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and Director of Railways of the Islamic Republic of Iran. 101/208
