Abbas Mousavi, spokesman for the Iran's foreign ministry described the neighbouring countries as a priority for the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic.

Iran Press/Iran News: Talking about changing the behaviour of some Persian Gulf states toward Iran, Mousavi said that If one day the countries of the region find that they can engage with Iran for regional security, self-security, peace and global security, the arms of the Islamic Republic of Iran is open and they are welcomed.

"Holding joint meetings between Iran's Coast Guard and some of its southern neighbours, including the UAE in Tehran to develop and strengthen bilateral relations, reflects the political will to create a positive atmosphere of cooperation," Mousavi reiterated.

He added: "Islamic Republic officials have repeatedly emphasized on Iran's readiness to launch regional talks to secure the region. The only solution to the region's problems is the participation of all countries to provide security and ask foreign powers to leave the region.
